@Stillpompous
You said a mouthful. But I can't argue with your underlying message... which is "Obama is in trouble." Even ***, illegals, and Democrats are saying that all he is doing is pandering. Just last year he said this would be an illegal move and Conservatives are going to have a field day with him about this. Here's his exact quote from a Univision town hall last year...
"With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through Executive Order, that's just not the case... we have three branches of government. Congress passes the law and the Executive Branch is to enforce and implement those laws... There are enough laws on the books that are very clear on how we have to enforce our immigration system -- that, for me, through Executive Order, to simply ignore those Congressional mandates -- would not conform with my appropriate role as President."
That quote, which the accompanying video is spreading all over the Internet now. Obama has made a serious mistake with this executive order.
Hey @ Greg, Love, Hater, Great - always to be in great company. Hater, I do agree with everything you said and Greg, while I was very concern about the Immigration thing last week, I guess Great and Know.. is right, it does not appear to be a big uproar as I'd expected. Even Bill Kristol (of all people) said on Chris Wallace Sunday that it is all politics and does more harm to Romney by backing him in a corner to make the next room. However, Obama still have so much ways to go. As to the black issue thingy, I think the problem some blacks have with Obama "not having done much for black people" is that the policies and other efforts made to help blacks are not tangible, therefore; it appears he has neglected them, but I do believe to some extent, the benefits for blacks are in his policies such as his support for African American small business, changes to college education and even his health care policy in the long run, if there are no interference from the supreme court. But, I don’t know which is worse – not voting for some one whose policies are not tangible but is still fighting the obstructionists for growth and assistance to all people or voting for someone who sees, accept and respect corporations more as real people than that of blacks and Latinos…so much so that it is quite conspicuous in his advertised plans and agenda where they are so openly excluded.
@Hater, I think the Universal Healthcare issue is not going to be addressed anytime soon. People are too willing to listen to false rhetoric, propaganda, and lies rather than facts. If Universal Healthcare would have been properly addressed in plain black and white to the American public, I'm sure it would have passed. However, when you have the healthcare companies, pharmaceutical companies, and Republicans using millions of dollars to put out false information to lobby against it, people fall for the okey doke. I know plenty of black and white middle class people who cannot afford the health insurance offered by their jobs, and the public option would have been an opportunity for everyone (poor, middle class, even the rich) to have access to affordable healthcare. Now, the Republican are using millions of dollars to lobby for keeping tax cuts and cutting much needed government programs. Yes, sacrifices do need to made by everyone, poor, middle class and the rich, but it seems the wealthy only want to lobby for cuts at the bottom and not the top. That type of unbalanced approach to getting America out of this economic recession will never work, and will do more harm than good. Look at how even overseas, they have come to the realization austerity does not work, and are looking to focus on job creating policies that will help everyone. Hopefully, this will open the eyes of the American public and help them to see the Republicans one-sided plan of protecting the rich and trying to balance the budget on the backs of the poor and middle class is a recipe for disaster.
Hey Greg, seems MTO was trying censor me on the low by not letting me access certain posts, will see if it continues...
@Love... saw your post about the censor and wanted to let you know that it may not be MTO. For some stories you have to click on the comments only to post or sometimes, the link takes you to the story directly and the comment button is not available, at least I've had that experience and thought the same.
What a great debate UNTIL a certain someone jumped on and started calling another poster names. I think it's clear that Obama is not going to win this election. He now has a record and that record is shabby. In 2008, we asked what the Republican administration had done for us. The answer was very little. Unfortunately, four years later, Obama has done nothing but scrambled around passing this and supporting that. WHAT HAS HE REALLY DONE TO IMPROVE OUR LIVES IN AMERICA....NOTHING!!! He has five months to change that answer. I dont think he can do it.
..people with the longest post seem to be in some alternate reality state. Dont even feel like going point for point..but if you let these people control the taking points like people have.they become empowered. It's more important that people now seem to think lying through their teeth has become the norm. The fact they think their masterful plan is elaborate because the *** brothers told/bought people who will say anything for money is an insult to intelligence. I'm sure there are 10yr olds that can see the lack of logic coming out of these people. If you're going to lie..at least be good at it. Also I love how people seem to be fond of phrases Ive seen all over the net like 'its clear'..'its obvious'..'we all know'. When you put people in a room and tell em what to say you start hearing the same thing. Thats the only place trickle down works.
@grt1
What up man. I see u in here sword swingin. What's up with all this energized base talk? WTF does that even mean? Haven't they stayed gunning for Obama? Maybe the propaganda train I gonna go full throttle now...
@greg
Why are you worried about the poor if Romney wins? He will make life easier for corporations who in turn out of the kindness of their hearts let the love trickle down in the form of creating jobs and paying appropriate wages. Obviously with their lack of resources they need all the help they can get.
I think it was Jesus who said
"if thow seeath a homeless man on the side of the road make haste and stepeth over him!"
I think that's from the book of Judas chapter 9 verse 99
