@ Greg, I'm glad to hear that you're being honest to yourself about this fraud (Obama). What we have to realize is that this whole system is jaded and based on fraud. Picking right and left won't get it done....they're both corrupt and bought and paid for. It's time for a new party (the Tea Party tried but was co-opted), amongst other things. People who are hard core Democrats and/or Republicans are fooling themselves....

@gregnlbc
If Obama did this then he deserves to lose the election IMO. I know this may be a somewhat âthornyâ topic of discussion for some his stalwarts and supporters but who the hell running his re-election dumbbells? Iâm not trying to impugn this Act, but I also do not feel that illegal (being the operative word here) immigrants should get free education at the expense of tax paying Americans, when the American Dream itself is only a dream for so many because of a severely anemic economy and America being on the brink of another Great Depression era. I remember from readings that Bush gave the American people two rebate checks around election year and with the economy and some working class and the impecunious people already so incensed with him, mainly from âwhat have he done for me latelyâ, Iâm sure a rebate check would have made the anger a little less stinging and garner more votes for him since this is purely political.
@Prissy
I agree with everything you said. I don't know who is running his campaign. What the executive order does is allow illegals who are ages 16-30 to get 2 year work permits that are renewable every 2 years and there's no limit. Signing an executive order like that was a serious mistake during the election year. The Republicans are going to exploit that big time and make an issue of Obama going around Congress.
Greg... YES! those Repubs sure bet will be on him like white on rice for this, and btw, since Obama is on a roll, then maybe he should just go ahead and legalize pot, sign his own jobs bill etc what the heck. Also, I heard Romney and Rubio is working on a Dream Act too, boy, these darn politicians gives new meaning to â Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the otherâ Ameringer.
People should stay the hell home and not vote at all â yea I said it, despite our suffrage, why vote for the lesser of two evils when people have a tendency to become lackadaisical, apathetic only to allow either evil (in the form of irresponisbility, greed and power) from both sides to continue?
I don't think this issue will decide the election. Mitt Romney was against it and then he was open to the Dream Act. He flip flopped. Obama's camp could just say Romney would have voted for it and Hispanic Republicans support it. This will cancel itself out at the end. This is gonna be a very tough election year...
In the end Obama will be judged by the economy. The Dream Act, *** rights, and all this other stuff are not the top election issues. The economy is what Romney's camp will drill into the voters' mind. They know all of Obama's tricks. They saw what he did in 2008. Since that time Obama has lost much of his base, more people have lost their jobs, and those young pro-Obama students have graduated and entered the real world. The economy will sink Obama's ship as it should.
@Prissy
He should legalize pot. I don't smoke it but I don't see the harm in others using it.
@Kn0w
I think the issue with Obama signing is that he ran around Congress to do it *** out debate. Obama is already seen as taking away people's rights by Republicans, and some Independents and Democrats, this is going to reinforce it. I agree with you though, it is going to be a tough election and if the Republican's exploit this correctly, Obama is going to be in trouble.
@Stormzoe
The voters who would hold the economy against Obama already do. The rest of the election will be decided by secondary issues that many people believe in, such as abortion, *** rights, the wars and military, and illegal immigration. Many people give President Obama a pass on the economy because he inherited it and has only been working with it for 3 and a half years, nearly not enough time to fix it. Republicans are going to lose again if they continue to think that the economy is the ONLY thing people will be voting for.
If and that's a BIG if they exploit it correctly. Knowing their base, the Republicans will most likely say that he simply let illegals in the country and barley touch on him going around congress to do it. They'll most likely just pander to anti illegal immigration rhetoric instead the "liberty and debate" stuff. But who knows? They are more experienced than him in running dirty politics.
@Know..."But who knows? They are more experienced than him in running dirty politics"
You bet they are! There is something to say about a party like Republicans who don't give a hoot, fails so badly and still wins everytime.
Where is Barn, this is so right up her alley and she is not on this? lol, just kidding.
Great1
I disagree. I think this can turn into a big problem for Obama. Republican lawmakers are already calling this illegal and talking about filing lawsuits. You remember what happened to Health Care Reform? Had a public option and everything, and once the Republicans whipped everyone up, the people who had been for it, turned against it. Even Obama backed off of a lot of what he wanted. I just don't think this was a good move at all. If he doesn't do a good job of convincing the fence sitters that this is good policy, they're going to switch to Romney. And if he doesn't fight back against the Republicans if they make this an issue, people will leave him for being weak. I just don't see the reason for him doing this. You're right, he should have done this in 2009 if he really wanted to.
@greg, The economy will come into play with the swing states that have been hit hard. States like Ohio and Michigan. That's where you will see the impact of the unemployment rate on the election. People...black, white, yellow, dems or repubs want to work and it's just not happening fast enough for millions of people. They will cast their votes accordingly.
@stillpompous, Ohio dumped their Democratic governor due to a high unemployment rate. They replaced him with John Kasich a powerful long time former congressman with a lot of friends in Congress. No president wins the election without Ohio so Obama needs to be very worried since he is either tied or trailing in the Ohio polls.
