I'm a personal trainer and this is a complete lie. LOL
The reason why white women lose more weight than blk women is because white women eat whole foods. Natural and organic. Which gives the body exactly what it needs while at the same time being easily digested. Blk women on the other hand eat processed soul food that contain fantastic amounts of sugar and cholesterol that's also much difficult to digest. Not to mention the blk women I try to train don't have a strong will to continue in their regimine, due from a lack of discipline. Also due to the lack of energy caused by the unhealthy food.
This article definetly has a strong agenda behind it. As if skin color played a part in physical fitness. Give me a f.uckin break.
^^^^ What are ya talking about?!! I read this article the other day and to sum it up, the reason exercise may not work as well to help black girls lose weight is because their body fat is more denser/heavier than white girls body fat. Black fat is more solid, while white fat is lighter thus making it easier to lose when they exercise. Of course diet comes into play, but you cannot assume all white women eat organic food and have a strong discipline. It may be true in some cases but not all. People tend to judge white people on an individual basis, where as they are quick to judge ALL black people based on the actions of a few.
Its all about the diet, most white people in general don't have the same diet as black people. I eat more greens and fiber than meat and protein and I've been a size 5 since I was in middle school. I exercise on a regular and can barely gain weight but the majority of my family is fat. We see a $4 salad and a $1 cheeseburger and most of us will just get the $1 cheeseburgers. A case of water is $6 for a 24pk while you can get 4-12pk sodas for $10 that's the problem.
Yes it takes discipline . You also have to want go get fit on your own accord - you do it for self!
I use to be that girl who didn't care about my body and health. I use to think that since I was still young that I didn't have to take care of my fitness - I was DEAD WRONG -
Over the course of 5 years I had put on 50 lbs of fat. I changed myself in 2009, joined a gym but didn't stick to it.
In 2010.. I finally woke up & went hard up in the gym, I even found ways to stay fit at home by jogging every day around my neighborhood (30-40 mins a day to be exact). I eat in moderation .. I don't starve.
Instead of two baked pieces of chicken I'll eat one. I eat smaller meals through out the day to fuel my metabolism . I drink plenty of water and get a good ***'s rest. I ensure that my mental health is well too.
So if you have the drive .. You can do it!!! It starts with you! I canh tell you how to do it but you'll soon find a way ..a lifestyle .
This is my life. I ain't going back! Lol
No no no, I read the article. The TRUTH is, black girls are less likely to lose weight through exercise IF they continue to eat high-fat foods, AKA "soul food". Of course white girls lose weight exercising if they go home to eat whole wheat cheese sandwiches and drink skim milk. Lol. ANYONE can lose weight from exercise, some of us have to just lay off the fried foods! BELIEVE ME! I lost 20 lbs, not from exercise, but from eating A BALANCED DIET.
Ok...my previous comments were made without any facts. Here is what has been actually reported about this issue: A study done in 2008 published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism found,"black youths oxidize fat more slowly in response to exercise and tend to have lower resting metabolic rates." Maybe a different excerise/training regime should be used when trying to help black youths achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
Thanks @SHEREE5! Kudos to you @Miss_Supra_Negra!!! Fortunately I have been blessed to not have to worry about my weight, however there are many people in my family who struggle with weight. They eat right and exercise but the weight never seems to come off and stay off. I would love to see a study done that takes into account the information about fat oxidation and lower resting metabolic rates in blacks that involves specific, targeted ways to overcome these natural, genetic challenges that make maintaining a healthy weight harder for black people.
The article did not say black girls do not benefits from exercise.
The article states that black girls eat more and exercise less than white girls by age 14.
The 'Archives of Pediatrics' used data sourced from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to generate their silly little report.
Yet another recurring study / report generated at the expense of taxpayers about black people designed to disparage year in and year out. Too much negative energy for my taste.
