: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that rapper Mysikal was released from prison last week. A spokesman from the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed his release.
Mystikal, whose real name is Michael L. Tyler, was convicted in 2004 of sexually assaulting a woman. The victim accused Mystikal and two bodyguards of forcing her to perform oral sex after they accused her of stealing $80,000 worth of his checks. She denied stealing any money.
And last year, while incarcerated on sexual assault and extortion charges, Mystikal was convicted of two counts of tax fraud.
Mystikal is best known for his hit songs Shake It Fast and Danger. No word on whether Mystikal plans on recording any songs in the future.
UPDATE: It turns out that Mystikal was released from federal prison, but still remains in state prison. He\’s likely to serve at least another year.
