November 15. Illicit drug use is commonplace in the hip hop industry. But until now, there have been no reported cases of hip hop artists using crystal meth. That may be about to change. MediaTakeOut.com spoke with a woman who suspects that hip hop giant T.I. may be a meth user.
The woman told MediaTakeOut.com that she witnessed the multi-platinum selling rapper (pictured below) smoking what she believes was crystal meth. The woman tells, "T.I. was in the parking lot of an Atlanta club with a few of his friends and they were smoking something out of a pipe ... at first I thought that it was [marijuana] but then I thought, why is this [EXPLETIVE] smoking out of a pipe." Then, according to the woman, T.I. began to act oddly. The woman explains, "after they finished smoking, me and a couple of my friends tried to talk to T.I. ... he wouldn't talk, he just started yelling out some crazy [EXPLETIVE] and then he started playing with his sidekick over and over - I think he even broke it." The woman added, "T.I. looked like he was tweaking - and my uncle is on crystal meth so I know what it looks like." Tweaking, or engaging in repetitive behavior, is a common side effect of meth use. What makes the woman's story more credible is that it occurred in Atlanta - a city under siege by the crystal meth epidemic. DEA Special Agent Sherri Strange calls Atlanta, "the major hub for meth trafficking." According to Strange, 50 to 75 percent of all meth seized on the East Coast is found in Atlanta.
