: A few months ago, MediaTakeOut.com was the first news source in the world to report that Cassie was leaving Bad Boy Records. As usual, we've now been proven right.
According to MediaTakeOut.com's inside sources at Bad Boy Records, she and her manager Ryan Leslie are officially on their own. Tells the source, "They [Cassie and Ryan] have been released from Bad Boy. We wish them the best ... but Bad Boy still retains an interest in [Ryan's indie label] NextSelection Lifestyle Group."
No word on which label will house Cassie's newest album, The Return, which is scheduled for release on September 18th.
And Cassie's already begun trying to get the word out about the split. You see, on her Myspace page, she lists her record label as NextSelection Lifestyle Group (it used to say Bad Boy Records). Oh, and she's already removed Diddy from her Friend's list...
This girl has no career w/bad boy of anything other label. Her manager is stupid to continue to promote her. Anyone is stupid if they support her. I mean she's pretty and all, sh1t i'm pretty but that doesn't mean i'm a singer. She had 1 hit and to me that wasn't even a hit. I hated that song. She need to focus on go to school.

Yeah Beyonce is pretty, but women know that she's not perfect, we all know she doesn't have "good" hair which makes us a little hopeful. Rihanna has a big forhead, Ashanti has messed up side burns, Janet had plastic surgery, Keisha Coles has a gap in her teeth,Brandy is weird looking, Amerie is Pretty, but when she came out " before" plastic surgery on her nose she was identifiable..I could go on. You can't say anything bad about her except for her signing. She sings no better or worse than most female R&B star's out there. Women can't be "too perfect" to make it in the music business because women won't buy and men won't wither because they don't listen to that kind of music.

When New Edition was on BET I was in my living room surround sound on doing every move. When they came to Chicago for the Taste of Chicago I was there like I was 10 and singing along hitting the moves (just in case they needed a stand i...lol) think it was the biggest turnout ever for the taste.

Those guys are the best! The dance moves, CLASSIC! Overall stage presence, CLASS ACT! J-Lo had Oscar-nominee buzz around her when she decided to record. She'd already done a handful of movies, including "Selena" in which she really did a great job.
She's a natural when it comes to performing, and she's an attention-hound. It was a given that she would want a recording career. I admire how she's made everything she got her feet into, work to her full advantage.
Maybe that's the REAL KEY. She was a mediocre singer and dancer, but she invested her earnings and handled the business end of her career, and now look at her.
Cassie really needs to enroll in some college courses...and grow up....she goes out and gives djs and media people the dirty eye at parties because she hear them talk greasy about her.....she needs to grow up. None of Cassie's songs did well. ME and U had some good air play on the radio but thats about it. Danity Kane's album sold more than Cassies. CAssie's album fell fast after the first week. SHe sounds the same on all of the songs....cuz she can't do much with her voice because SHE CAN'T sing...just riding Ryan Leslie's overracted beats...the marketing behind the album cover was pure genious....the label knows she has an ugly skeletal body and a cute face....so they chose a pic not showing her body and ZOOOMED up to her face since they think her face will sell...then you gotta show that she is ethnic...so they left her hair curly so hispanics, blacks and whites could relate to her and buy the album. CLASSIC!

I can soooo relate as an artist myself! LOL I just think that our society is more finicky these days, and also because of politics and the economy, things are volitile everywhere.
You just have to know how to simutaneously be artist/businessman, or you're going to get robbed, be in debt and not have anything to fall back on if your dreams don't happen fast enough for you.
I mentioned this before on another topic. A lot of these artists get into the biz and don't understand what recoupment is. They spend up all the advance money given to them ahead of time, and when they don't sell, the complain to the record label.
She should've had a trusted family member up in her business from the get go. It seems some of the biggest stars today, had some family behind them in making important business decisions.
Lis, I agree. She is just off on her own...making stupid decisions...her parents aren't smart for letting her "do her thing" and not sending her to college first. That's why i like Amerie...she did HER thing AFTER she graduated college. I'm sure when Amerie's album flops...she can still get a decent job as for Cassie...it's a big question mark. maybe hollywood will embrace her...they are superficial out there....she'd fit in perfect.

damn manni_montana is speakin DA TRUTH!! you reminded me of so many artists I forgot about..G-Depp..damn..I thought he was gonna do something good..Gina Thompson- I really liked that song she came out with, wow that was like 10 years ago..Da Band got exploited as animals and kicked to the dust like bums..we're never gonna see Babs or Ness again..Danity Kane is about to get thrown into the black hole..B5 had some good momentum going with the young girls..if Diddy was smart he would have gotten them their own show on Disney-that would have made them blow up for sure..but he probably didnt want to split profits with anyone..his greedy ass is the reason people on his label never go past a certain point..Diddy thinks HUGE for himself and his career-but never for his artists..why doesnt he ever get them endorsement deals? tv shows? movies? clothing lines? all the sh*t he gets for himself!
have anybody that signed with Diddy ever been happy though, first one to stop working with him was Mary J years ago, even was rumors that Biggie (RIP) was not all that happy with Diddy either
but I think Diddy knowns that the well known "Bad Performance" on BET 106 & Park has completely tarnished this girls career I don't think she will ever be able to bouce after the world found out that she is or was (looking at that photo) just a pretty face with a horrible voice
