I appreciate that. It explains alot. My grandmother was diagnosed with lupus and it altered her looks drastically. Almost like it made her skin look like it was burning or something. wow shes was beautiful at age 22..I think maybe she has an illness or she is not the age that she is claiming to be..I dont ever believe these celebs..Im 30 years old and I can pass for 22..so if I was an actress I would be telling the media Im 22..nobody wants to hire a 30 year old for anything..Jasmine probably had to lie about her age to get the Whitley role because she was playing a college student..look at the people from Beverly Hills 90210..those mofos were 27, 28 years old, playing teenage roles..Nelly lied about his age when he first came out, tried to say he was 19 when the mofo was really 27..someone from his high school blew up the spot when they went to the media with his yearbook..Jasmine is probably in her 50's

the pics aren't altered. she was looking that way 2 years ago in her father's church. she was on drugs after a different world. then after that baby (has nothing to do w/ her face) she really started wrinkling. pretty, but she always looked 5-10 years older than the other 'college students' on a different world.
Yes, it is a serious disease. It can be managed, but nevertheless; it is serious. The disease takes different forms and attacks the body. I'm sure looking like "Whitley" is the least of her worries. Let us all pray for her. (I'm not preaching; I promise)

If Jasmine Guy has Lupus, she's in my prayers, but genetically since she's half white I wouldn't be surprised that she aged so badly. And don't give me that *** about Halle berry being white but she looks great for 40. Put Halle Berry next to jasmine Guy and you will see jasmine Guy is Fair, while Halle Berry is noticeably browner compared to Ms. Guy!!! Meaning the little melanin Ms. Berry has, has worked in her favor of not aging so quickly. Just my opinion!!!
Everyone who made a stupid comment about her "White Side" is truly ignorant. Jasmine Guy looks like any other celebrity w/o makeup. Put some makeup on her and get some airbrushing done and she will look just like she was 22 again. All ya'll tryin to blame her white side is just mad that your not light skinned!

She looks horrible - sorry but it's true. I'm bi-racial..my father is caucasian and I know they say Caucasian's don't age is gracefully as we do - BUT I'm 36 (7 months pregnant) - I weight 115 llbs - no wrinkles.
People are amazed and tell me I look like I'm in my early 20's, and don't look pregnant.
IF I can do it - and I'm not 1/4 as rich as her, she should be able to pull it together - I mean her face looks like she's had a very hard life, and we know that is not the truth.
Poor Jasmine she looks older than my mom who is 60 and has not one wrinkle, she might have a few grey hairs but her face is smooth as a baby's bottom!!!! But it's all about genetics because all the women in my family look a lot younger than they are. At least Jasime has decided to just let nature take it's course because she *** sure has not gotten any botox or any other plastic surgery. Then again, in hollywood I don't know if that is a good career decision. Maybe she should get some botox and smooth that situation out just a tad.....

How could a woman like Jasmine in her early 40's look 30 years older than what she is. I met Bernadette Stanis in person and she STILL HAS IT. She is packin and although thicker its a very good thick. The woman is 54 if i am not mistakened which is around 12or 13 years older than Guy.

Having Lupus may have something to do with it depending on how mild or serious it is but I have Lupus, and I'm Bi-Racial and I'm always told that I look younger then my little sister which is 8 years younger than me. I don't believe anyon is "hatin" on being light-skinned. It's just a fact that people who are browner age gracefully because of the amount of melanin in their skin. Think about it, it darker colors absorb heat and lighter colors reflect it, what's happening to your skin? That's why white and light people have to worry about skin cancer (hence melanoma), and what not. Are you mad/upset that you are not browner? Also, did you know that there was a such thing as melanin injections? Nobody's hating but facts are facts.
from what I just read ignorant people who keep saying lupus don't have you looking like that, there are different versions and if the person isn't taking their medication and not doing other things right they can look horrible, and it seems to me maybe Mrs. Jasmine isnt' doing what she is suppose to... who knows... but MTO is dead *** wrong for posting that, knowing she is sick...

A lot of how you age has to do with genetics, and how you take care of your skin and body through your youth. I have a girlfriend who is white and she is in her mid thirties and I swear she looks like she is well over forty and alot of it has to do with her smoking, not drinking a lot of water and she is always stressed because of her job. These things really do take a toll on you body and especially your skin. Poor Jasmine, I would hate to see her at age 50 ......***

I knew a girl in my class and her mother had lupus. She didnt look like Jasmine does, but that doesnt matter does it? She's sick and she needs our prayers, not be talked about & bashed.
I always wanted to know when was getting old a bad thing? If people are aging normally then they look a hot mess. If they get work done to stay young they still get talked about. We were never meant to stay as young as we are and look like we do. That to me is the beauty of life.... People in here thinking she had a rough life and did all these crazy things. Anyway, the reason we don't hear a lot about this disease is because it mainly attacks minority women. More and more research is being done, but the medical community still can not predict flare ups or exactly how to treat it. There still is no one test to even diagnose it. They do a battery of tests. Many times it is confused with Rheumatoid Arthriris due to the joint pains. With proper management it can be managed, but it is a serious disease. Some people live healthy enjoyale lives, but others are hit harder. Let's offer her our prayers and move on to bashing Paris.

A lot of these celebrities hide their sickness because sometimes they tend to think they might loose all their fans due to thinking differently of them. They want to keep that spot light and all the fans they have so they will do whatever it takes to keep us from knowing the truth and it always takes somebody like (MTO) to dig deep down and come up with the truth. I just recently found out (PATTIE LABELLE) was a diabetic. All these years I never knew that about her, because i was so traumatized by her voice. But again thanks girl for enlighten me on that. It never fails to surprise me how IGNORANT people can be about race. There is no scientific evidence that suggests people of European ancestry age faster than non-European people. Additionally, if someone is of mixed African and European background, there exists no "side" that genetically predominates over another. Okay,I don't see the story here. She has aged, as we all will if the Lord says the same. SOme say she may be sick with lupus. So what, she has no control of how she ages, at least she hasn't been lifted and tucked like a lot of Hollywood celebs. Give her a break. You know this woman/or her peeps, have read these posts. The whole white side theory is dumb!! She obviously has not taken care of herself physically or mentally. Who knows? Etta James is half white, 69, and looks 10 times better than Jasmine - when she was fat and now that she lost all her weight. It really depends on your genetics. "Black don’t crack" is true, but it does sag. Nobody is age proof. Melanin is just a good age shield, and I'm glad I got some.
I saw Jasmine on a Life Time movie and wondered what happened to her. She has really aged and the camera shows it. I read somewhere that she is or was an alcoholic. If this is true, then that's the reason she's aged so quickly OR someone is surely worrying the HELL out of her! She's given several in-depth interviews and not once did she mention a disease.
I know people with Lupus, one even undergoing chemo, and I have yet to see it effect their appearance like this. Lupus does effect people differently but my gut tells me Jasmine is not looking this way due to it.
That's so sad. I did suspect something was up notice the pallor of her skin and the premature liver spots clear indication of her being sick. But I did laugh out though. Not knowing. I would like to see her at the other ages with no make-up! hello everyone this is my first blog, I chose this story on behalf of the defense of a persons beauty. Jasmine guy was a looker doing a different world and yet I will admit she do not look the same but, everyone must realise that she was 20 plus when she was playing whitley. To me she look good for her age, she is still a beautiful woman and it is unjust to compare her to when she was 20 years younger. I do not know the age of some of you but I am pushing into my 30's and I must say your body is going to change, no matter how many crunches you do or wheights you lift you will get some form of age old spread or a receding hair line. Jasmine guy has aged well and has taken care of her body. the biggest crime is that of all the talent on that show, none of them truly got the careers that they deserve aftwards.

She looked 27 when she was 22,,,,37 when she was 27,,,,40 when she was 30, 45 when she was 35, and 51 when she's 41. To me she has never had a youthful aura about her. Mariah Carey is 37 and looks 27 and Vanessa Williams could pass for a late-40 something. So race has nothing to do with her aging, its the lifestyle.

Can we also stop saying that light skin black women age faster than dark. That's not always the case. I ( a light skin black woman ) am thirty and often mistaken for 22. And I have seen a lot of dark skin black women with wrinkled up, hard looking faces and puffy eyes. So, yeah you can think " Good Black don't crack" if you want to. Melanin is supreme but black does crack if it not taken care of and their is this little thing called genetics too

Man... reading this lets me know how cruel people can be. Black, White or whatever. It's sad that some of you have no compassion until you get diagnosed, or an accident or something happens. The Sister dealing with what she's carrying has still manage to accomplish things most people dream of. I pray that she stands strong. While bi-racial, she has always advocated and dedicated herself giving to the black community and I pray that all of you who can so easily act like you will be all that forever will wake up. I pray for the Sister, that she will stand strong and fight well what she is dealing with.
