A rep for the Beverly Hills PD confirmed with MediaTakeOut.com that the department has launched a battery investigation involving the rapper, hours after TMZ reported details about an alleged attack in a local medical building. According to TMZ's report, West became enraged after an 18-year-old man directed racial slurs at fiancée Kim Kardashian and punched the teen in the face.
Specifically, TMZ claims the following:
the guy had been yelling at paps outside the building as Kim showed up. He apparently tried to help her get in the building, but when he started ranting at photogs, calling them "n****rs" and "f****ts" ... Kim called him out and he then went crazy on her.
For some reason, Kim called Kanye in the middle of the guy's rant and the guy screamed that Kanye was an "n****r," and it all culminated in confrontation in a chiropractor's waiting room when Kanye barged in and punched the guy. Now Kanye is a suspect in a criminal battery investigation.
"The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses," police said in a statement issued to The Los Angeles Times on Monday, adding that West had already left the scene before officers arrived. Authorities will be conducting a follow-up investigation into the matter.
