So sad about my hometown The "D" (Detroit). Used to be a nice place to live back in the 80's and early 90's. It was getting out of control up there though! I used to go to a school on Mack Ave. That place is full of projects, so I'm inclined to believe this list about that area! I've been through there dozens of times. These areas are "bad" because the city doesn't give a sh*t about low income areas!

MTO ur list is INACCURATE...I wuz wonderin how tha F... Oakland didn't make it on tha list..It seems like killin negros and latinos is a FULL TIME OCCUPATION, here in tha town..plus, in tha Bay we hav tha RICH, Stockton, tha Valley-joe, etc... But I did get excited, even though their numbers are wildly different than the FBI's list for 2012...So I peruse the list at NEIGHBORHOODSCOUT.com for myself and low and beyhold..OAKLAND, CA is #13 on the list, not what you have stated...Do you have any proper editors there or interns whose main responsibility is to properly research facts??? Ya need to hire someone stat..and if u already have one-higher someone more astute!!

Land wise Houston is 2-3 times larger than the other cities. Houston has some of the safest areas too. Weird I know but true. All of the area of the other cities are like that. Really Chicago and Detroit it seems are CHL by law.

Funny someone said their particular city ain't on the list like its a badge of honor.....Please I live literally 2 min away from Detroit(sprinting distance from 8mile). Not all of it is bad but some place look like Raccoon City from Resident Evil. You wouldn't want to go there even with the taliban. I mean the shit is a third world(no exaggeration). Niggas from the heart of the city or the East Side would pay to stay in your hood.

yeah I think the list is probably off too as much as I see Harris County, Texas and Liberty City, Pork n Beans and Little Haiti on The First 48 and now even Charlotte-Mecklenberg is on there too. I don't live in the D anymore. ain't visited it in a while either, plus I don't miss the snow - and yeah we go hard in the paint...but I'm almost certain on yall list Gratiot/Rosemary is darn near across the street from the Northeastern District of DPD. Detroit would have made somewhat of a recovery if it hadn't been for that no good mayor and his cronies. They're all doing hard time now - LOL this clown is still filing appeals to be released from FEDERAL custody while he awaits SENTENCING.

@ blackbeautyanddiva If anything Fantasia needs to be grateful for MTOs reports. If she knew anything about publicity, she would know that there is no such thing as bad publicity, in terms of being publicized. In other words, at least MTO had people thinking about her azzzzz and talking about her azzzz, good or bad, when they could have just let people forget about her. The subject matter, of course, is only what Fantasia put out there. At least MTO kept her name hot.

TheKriticalKritic

Hellz no I don't live in one of these neighborHOODS... and never will. I don't have anything to prove by forcing myself near these types of areas just because I'm black. We don't choose our race, but we can make choices within our lives. I make it a point not to be within close geometrical proximity of the hood so I sure as hellz will not be in the same breathing distance to the 'hood'. I live in a conservative area of mixed demographic where most of my 'bad' local news stories consist of local ordinances, construction issues, business tax issues, and the occasional person who got bused for having an expired tag. Sure s hit can happen in ANY neighborhood, but I'd rather be surprised that an event happened rather than practically expecting it/being used to it/being more surprised when s hit DOESN'T happen every day. I'm sure some people will take some sort of exception to my viewpoint, but the world won't stop revolving because of it. Moving on...next!

Memphis is only on the list twice good grief. They did a story about it on the news and the people in those neighborhoods felt that the story were untrue. According to them, they all look out for each other. Anyway, yes Memphis does have some nothing to live for a$$ n!qqas (in all colors) but hell doesn't everywhere? I am happy to report that my subdivision had 0 crime for 2012! So where I live in Memphis (not in the suburbs) is cool.

This is a list of the Worst. So just because it didn't make the list doesn't mean it's not that bad. There are bad neighborhoods everywhere, and even in nice neighborhoods there is some crime. Detroit has a high unemployment rate. Most of the ppl were employed through GM and lost their jobs. Every other house is foreclosed. Consequently, they have bad neighborhoods.

firstjohn
flag as inappropriate/spamReply

@ badgurll YOU STATED: Detroit has a high unemployment rate. Most of the ppl were employed through GM and lost their jobs. Every other house is foreclosed. Consequently, they have bad neighborhoods. MY RESPONSE: It is sad that the people do not know who God is, or, they have very little faith in God. Being without a job is no excuse to turn around and violate your neighbors. It should be a matter of vertical praise (looking up) rather than a matter of horizontal praise (looking to someone around you). The power (or the force) of God is real. People have so little faith, and they take it out on their own people. When times get tough, read your Bible and be enlightened, and you will get fed. God works in mysterious ways.
