: MediaTakeOut.com is hearing whispers that Eddie Murphy's ex-wife Nicole has SPENT UP all her divorce money. According to the NY Post, Nicole received a $15 MILLION settlement from Eddie - as a one time settlement payment.
Well since then, Nicole has been living the HIGH LIFE. Traveling around the world in private jets, driving BRAND NEW Ferraris, and living in a huge Los Angeles Mansion.
Now things are starting to get TIGHT. She's put her home up for sale (in the WORST LA real estate market in 20 years), and now the IRS is after her for BACK TAXES. Here's how our pals over at the NY Post are putting it:
According to public records, the IRS filed liens for $210,957 and $3,731 against the girlfriend of former New York Giant Michael Strahan on Oct. 6, for taxes owed from 2005 through 2008.DANG . . . we thought that WOMEN were usually SMARTER with their money . . .Nicole divorced ex-husband Eddie Murphy in 2006, and reportedly received a $15 million settlement. She owns a 9,200-square-foot Spanish estate in Calabasas, Calif., which is for sale for about $7 million. Murphy didn't respond to an e-mail for comment.

The 15 million is based off Eddie's assets. I am sure her lawyer would have requested a full assessment of what Eddie has. Don't forget Eddie has had a bunch of flops: Norbit, and Pluto Nash, so he aint rolling in the dough like y'all think, plus he puts out one film every two years. That was what she got for herself, he would still have to pay child support for the kids which would have netted her at least 100k per month or somewhere close to that.
A fool and their money....It would be sad if those poor kids don't even have a College fund.
If this is true, I hope Nicole can recoup from this huge error in judgement. Seems people think money last forever, thus they fail to keep accurate records of just how much money is actually going out.
If it were me, I would have downsized my lifestyle to a 5 bedroom home.. paid cash for it, around $500,000 at the most. Then I would have drawn up a plan to establish an amount to pay myself MONTHLY, as well as estimated the yearly cost to maintain my new downsized lifestyle. My goal would be to ensure the money last throughout my lifetime, or as close to it as possible.

People have to realize that $15 million isn't any type of money. A third of that probably went to her divorce lawyers. So now she has to live on ten million.She also lives in LA with one of the highest costs of living in the world. You have a certain lifestyle that you're accustomed too and to break away from that would be extremely difficult. Now I'm not saying that she shouldn't have adjusted and been wiser with her money. But all and all when you were Eddie Murphy's wife for that many years you can't live like a regular person anymore. She should have gotten more money in the settlement.

That was plenty of cash to last a lifetime but she still wanted to live big in LA. now she did have a small basketball team with him..they at least have 5 kids together..is she supporting all them or eddie doing child support? it is not nothing wrong living a good life, but you have to be wise about your money..no i do not feel bad for her..she is being still support by Strahan and his cash..she will be ok..
