: One MediaTakeOut.com reader told us about a very DISTURBING image going around the internet. It was taken from a message board called SkinCareTalk.com. According to the website, the above baby is getting her skin bleached by her mama. Here’s what the poster had to say:
My friend bleaches her 9 month old son. She only dates light skinned men as she puts it "who doesn’t want light skinned children black is dirty". Both her sons were born with more or less the same colour as her, now she bleaches the both of them.If somebody knows who this child is . . . PLEASE TELL US . . . so that we can refer CHILD SERVICES to his home!!!The father in the picture, is totally unaware of this. I have spoken to her on a number of occasions to stop but my words have fallen on deaf ears. I am not one for minding peoples business but what she is doing is dangerous.

I think I was saying something about this yesterday in the other thread. It's SOME of the black women who are bringing down the black race, they have some of the skin complex and they pass it down to their children who think light or white is right. Its easy to say this mother is dumb etc. But some of you fail to realize that the association of light skin and beauty is something that plagues many Black people around the world. This woman clearly thinks that by bleaching her child's skin he will not experience discrimination(whether real or perceived). wow, this is one of the examples of how living in a eurocentric society can do to a person who is not white. All skin colors are beautiful, but then you also have people with preferences. As for me, I love asian men and I know if I were to have a child with an asain man that it would come out with light skin. @SpyHustla, Quick question, who are raising all of these men to grow up colourstruck? It's not their fathers teaching them this, most aren't even around, so that leaves the mother. You can blame psychological damage and what not, but all it takes is one person to break this ugly cycle. Teaching their kids that there is beauty in every colour can really go a long way, and it lets these children know that they do not have to carry around this complex. Once again SOME black women are to blame, these are your children that have complex, and you can fix it. My mom never praised one skin colour over another when she raised us, partly because we were all different skin tones. Thats due in part to miserable self loathing blacks who probably tormented this woman for being dark, which in turn gave her the dark inferiority complex. Blacks are quicker than any other race to say eww you too *** dark/burnt/ashy looking/blue black etc.. That's because they still have house/field *** mentality embedded within them. Im sad to say blacks will never unite cause we cant even agree that black is beautiful no matter the shade. I feel bad for darker complected people they have to deal with alot of ***. I'm brown and I had my fair share of *** talking crooked. So i really sympathize with my darker hues of brothers and sisters. well first off: the mother is an idiot. bleach is not intended for use on the skin. that poor baby is gonna have serious health problems when he/she gets older (same if she is using a cream. a baby's skin is still developing and those harsh chemicals could really damage the skin ... im pretty sure there isn't a fade cream for babies)
@vonversace Indians and Asians bleach at a huge rate and even some Latinos for example Sammy Sosa. Its definitely not a blacks only thing. If anything out of Indians and Asians we use it the least. That's beyond SAD! If the baby didn't already come out light then just leave the baby as is. Aren't parents supposed to accept thier kids the way they are??
