I too knew her as Maude. I can still sing the song. Even though I didn't know what that show was about - I was a small girl, I just loved Bea. I love all of the Golden Girls and know that she went out with dignity with her family by her side - the way she wanted it.

Bea had two sons. Rue has one son. Betty has no children. She will probably leave all of her money to an animal charity. Estelle had two sons also, I think.

That theme song was classic. My favorite theme song from back in da days next to Growing Pains. Saying that just makes me think about how many damn white shows was on. Damn all we had was The Cosby Show and the wouldnt even let them put words in the the theme song lol.
