The problem with comparing what rappers do to what Hollywood actors do is that after the Movie is over Those actors don't carry those same personas with them on the outside, where as rappers carry on that same persona where ever they go. there is no distinction with them.
Rick Ross should have just kept it real. now he is looking real fake. He took the name of a real drug Kingpin and tok on that persona. he didn't take on the persona of a man who was a correction officer.

If you nukkas don't know by now that the "rap game" "music industry" is about marketing, packaging a talent, and pimping it out dressed up in any way that will sell the music, you have been believing all the hype bull$hit they have been slinging to you numbskulls for as long as rap has been around. You all have been played, over and over and over again by the "business that is the music industry nothing more than a factory of pumping up and promoting a rapper/musician to a particular demographic".
How could you all actually believe the hype? This Rick Ross nonsense is obvious proof that the rap game is a damn game. Remember Milli Vanilli.. it's the same $hit but a different package.
Wake up people. It's about business. It's about packaging an artists' image because everyone knows that rap is first of all about bravado, and flash and an artificial substance that the street eats up like warm cornbread with honey.

I can't answer that, it's what society makes us do. Honestly, what the crap is wrong w/ being a productive part of society? What would make a man ashamed of this? Perception?
