It is fine to have a preference. His views are more than just a 'preference' it was a blatant disrespect and attack on darker women not to mention downright degrading. I have a cousin who prefers lighter men but she has dated and was even engaged to a dark man and her having a preference for lighter/caramel men to be exact in no way causes her to be hateful and taunting and disrespectful to darker men. That is the difference between naturally preferring one look to another.
