CP has a bulls-eye on her back. She's the only player with a shoe deal, multi-million dollar deals, who's making the Olympic team as a rookie, who's dunking in the game as a rookie, who's been hyped up by the league since she was in high school, who won back to back championships and won every award imaginable in college, she was the number one draft pick, she just won two Espy's the other night, etc. On top of all of that, she's been able to back up the hype and surpass everyones expectations.
So people are naturally jealous of her. Those girls do not get paid like NBA players. I think top players get $100,000 and then it goes down after that. They get paid ten times that amount when they play over seas, which is why they play in the summer time. She has million dollar endorsement deals. The WNBA has made her their face in hopes to generate a larger fan base and it's been working. Hopefully next season the money will get a lot better. This years rookie class birth some super superstars. The first 3 draft picks were Candace Parker, Sylvia Fowles, Candice Wiggins. She and Candice(aks ACE & ICE) have surpassed everyones expectations.
But people don't acknowledge that Candace deserves all the accolades, the awards, the championships, the money. She deserve it all. Her game is all of that and more. This chick can play all five positions. They can't stop her inside or outside.
They also hate that she has swagger.
Yeah, some don't like that she taunts, her shoots evil eyes, and they feel that she's arrogant, but I think it's just uncommon to see a woman with as much swagger as Candace has.
