IT HAPPENED!! Obama CONVINCINGLY Beats Edwards And Hillary In IOWA

: DES MOINES, Iowa — (AP) A victorious Barack Obama portrayed his decisive first-place finish in the Iowa Democratic caucuses as a "defining moment" that he said would lead the way to change in Washington and an end to the war in Iraq.

The first-term senator from Illinois promised "a nation less divided and more united" and told those at a victory rally they could some day "look back and say this is the moment where it all began."

Obama, 46, is bidding to become the first black president. He garnered about 38 percent of the vote, comfortably ahead of former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former first lady.

"They said this day would never come. They said our sights were set too high. ... But on this January night, on this defining moment in history, you have done what the cynics said we couldn't do. You did what the state of New Hampshire can do in five days," Obama said.

If elected, Obama vowed, "I'll be a president that ends this war in Iraq and finally brings our troops home, who restores our moral standing, who understands that 9-11 is not a way a way to scare up votes but a challenge that should unite America and the world against the common threats of the 21st Century."

"Hope is the bedrock of this nation, the belief that our destiny will not be written for us but by us, by all those men and women who are not content to settle for the world as it is but who have the courage to remake the world as it should be," he said. "That is what we started here in Iowa and that is the message we can now carry to New Hampshire and beyond."

He appeared at the rally with his wife, Michelle, whom he called "the love of my life," and daughters Malia and Sasha.

As he came to the podium, he repeated "thank you" over and over to a crowd of supporters. Then, he added: "Thank you, Iowa."

An influx of new caucus-goers helped to boost Obama to victory in Iowa.

"We came together as Democrats, as Republicans and independents, to stand up and say we are one nation, we are one people and our time for change has come," Obama said as he launched his victory speech.

The freshman senator from Illinois was able to convince Iowans that he could do the most to shake up Washington, a feat that Clinton and Edwards had argued they'd be best able to accomplish.

Iowa was a three-way race for the Democratic contenders for months leading up to the caucuses, the first of the presidential nominating contests. Obama's win there gives him crucial momentum heading into New Hampshire, which holds its first-in-the-nation primary on Tuesday.

Obama repeatedly sparred with Clinton during the campaign over who was ready to lead the country. She accused him of being naive and inexperienced; he said her decades of Washington experience would mean more of the same if she were elected. Edwards faulted Obama's health care proposal, saying it would leave millions without coverage.

The Harvard Law School graduate launched his career by organizing black churches on the industrial South Side of Chicago. A turning point in his life came when he was chosen as the keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was elected to the U.S. Senate just four months later and became only the third black U.S. senator since Reconstruction.

After just two years in the Senate, Obama announced on the steps of the Old Capitol in Springfield, Ill., that he was running for president.

OBAMA SUPPORTS WAR ON DRUGS!!! When Barack Obama speaks of "change," he's not talking about the war on drugs. He likes it just fine the way it is. Obama's faith in the drug war is so strong, he even thinks it can help revitalize New Orleans: If elected, Mr. Obama said he would establish a Drug Enforcement Agency office in New Orleans that would be dedicated to stopping drug gangs across the region. [NYTimes] Mr. Senator, the drug war causes crime, it doesn't prevent it. The problem is not, and has never been, a lack of drug law enforcement. New Orleans already has a DEA office and it has not made life any easier for anyone. It should go without saying that increased drug activity in the region is a result of economic disorder, which inevitably empowers the black market. Bringing in the feds might disrupt local drug networks temporarily, but that would merely increase violence as new dealers take over for their fallen competitors. As we've documented in the Drug War Chronicle, Katrina revealed the frailty of Louisiana's drug war-ravaged criminal justice system. It is precisely in the aftermath of a great catastrophe like Katrina that the ridiculous quest to stop people from getting high is revealed as utterly wasteful and counter-productive. Obama's drug war revitalization plan for New Orleans is the latest step in his successful bid to be the worst on drug policy among the democratic presidential contenders. He's lamented the "political capital" required to repair the despicable crack/powder sentencing disparity, a no-brainer racial justice issue that even drug war hall-of-famer Joe Biden wants to fix. At Howard University's Democratic Debate on minority issues, he stood there like an idiot while every other candidate managed to address some type of criminal justice reform. He was also the last democratic candidate to pledge an end to federal medical marijuana raids, and not because they're heartless and evil, but because they're "not a good use of resources." Well, Barack Obama, you know what else is a poor use of resources? Creating a second DEA office in New Orleans when people still have holes in their roofs and mud in their basements. http://stopthedrugwar.org/chronicle_blog/2007/aug/28/obama_what_new_orleans_needs_is_ RON PAUL IS AGAINST IT 100% RON PAUL 2008 OPEN YOUR EYES

The place is here, the time is now, and the journey into the shadows that we're about to watch as several South Carolina's black churches will be paid off by Hillary Clinton's campaign to steer their flocks to vote for her has already commenced. While just as incredulously, there will be those on this very message board who, despite ALL OF THE PROOF TO THE CONTRARY, will insist that Barack Obama cannot win. Washington, DC –Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released its 2007 list of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians.” The list, in alphabetical order, includes: 1. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY): In addition to her long and sordid ethics record, Senator Hillary Clinton took a lot of heat in 2007 – and rightly so – for blocking the release her official White House records. Many suspect these records contain a treasure trove of information related to her role in a number of serious Clinton-era scandals. Moreover, in March 2007, Judicial Watch filed an ethics complaint against Senator Clinton for filing false financial disclosure forms with the U.S. Senate (again). And Hillary’s top campaign contributor, Norman Hsu, was exposed as a felon and a fugitive from justice in 2007. Hsu pleaded guilt to one count of grand theft for defrauding investors as part of a multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme. 2. Rep. John Conyers (D-MI): Conyers reportedly repeatedly violated the law and House ethics rules, forcing his staff to serve as his personal servants, babysitters, valets and campaign workers while on the government payroll. While the House Ethics Committee investigated these allegations in 2006, and substantiated a number of the accusations against Conyers, the committee blamed the staff and required additional administrative record-keeping and employee training. Judicial Watch obtained documentation in 2007 from a former Conyers staffer that sheds new light on the activities and conduct on the part of the Michigan congressman, which appear to be at a minimum inappropriate and likely unlawful. Judicial Watch called on the Attorney General in 2007 to investigate the matter. 3. Senator Larry Craig (R-ID): In one of the most shocking scandals of 2007, Senator Craig was caught by police attempting to solicit sex in a Minneapolis International Airport men’s bathroom during the summer. Senator Craig reportedly “sent signals” to a police officer in an adjacent stall that he wanted to engage in sexual activity. When the police officer showed Craig his police identification under the bathroom stall divider and pointed toward the exit, the senator reportedly exclaimed 'No!'” When asked to produce identification, Craig presented police his U.S. Senate business card and said, “What do you think of that?” The power play didn’t work. Craig was arrested, charged and entered a guilty plea. Despite enormous pressure from his Republican colleagues to resign from the Senate, Craig refused. 4. Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA): As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee's subcommittee on military construction, Feinstein reviewed military construction government contracts, some of which were ultimately awarded to URS Corporation and Perini, companies then owned by Feinstein's husband, Richard Blum. While the Pentagon ultimately awards military contracts, there is a reason for the review process. The Senate's subcommittee on Military Construction's approval carries weight. Sen. Feinstein, therefore, likely had influence over the decision making process. Senator Feinstein also attempted to undermine ethics reform in 2007, arguing in favor of a perk that allows members of Congress to book multiple airline flights and then cancel them without financial penalty. Judicial Watch’s investigation into this matter is ongoing. 5. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY): Giuliani came under fire in late 2007 after it was discovered the former New York mayor’s office “billed obscure city agencies for tens of thousands of dollars in security expenses amassed during the time when he was beginning an extramarital relationship with future wife Judith Nathan in the Hamptons…” ABC News also reported that Giuliani provided Nathan with a police vehicle and a city driver at taxpayer expense. All of this news came on the heels of the federal indictment on corruption charges of Giuliani’s former Police Chief and business partner Bernard Kerik, who pleaded guilty in 2006 to accepting a $165,000 bribe in the form of renovations to his Bronx apartment from a construction company attempting to land city contracts. 6. Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR): Governor Huckabee enjoyed a meteoric rise in the polls in December 2007, which prompted a more thorough review of his ethics record. According to The Associated Press: “[Huckabee’s] career has also been colored by 14 ethics complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on his way out of the governor’s office.” And what was Governor Huckabee’s response to these ethics allegations? Rather than cooperating with investigators, Huckabee sued the state ethics commission twice and attempted to shut the ethics process down. 7. I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby: Libby, former Chief of Staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and fined $250,000 for lying and obstructing the Valerie Plame CIA leak investigation. Libby was found guilty of four felonies -- two counts of perjury, one count of making false statements to the FBI and one count of obstructing justice – all serious crimes. Unfortunately, Libby was largely let off the hook. In an appalling lack of judgment, President Bush issued “Executive Clemency” to Libby and commuted the sentence. 8. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL): A “Dishonorable Mention” last year, Senator Obama moves onto the “ten most wanted” list in 2007. In 2006, it was discovered that Obama was involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin “Tony” Rezko. In 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company’s shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law. 9. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who promised a new era of ethics enforcement in the House of Representatives, snuck a $25 million gift to her husband, Paul Pelosi, in a $15 billion Water Resources Development Act recently passed by Congress. The pet project involved renovating ports in Speaker Pelosi's home base of San Francisco. Pelosi just happens to own apartment buildings near the areas targeted for improvement, and will almost certainly experience a significant boost in property value as a result of Pelosi's earmark. Earlier in the year, Pelosi found herself in hot water for demanding access to a luxury Air Force jet to ferry the Speaker and her entourage back and forth from San Francisco non-stop, in unprecedented request which was wisely rejected by the Pentagon. And under Pelosi’s leadership, the House ethics process remains essentially shut down – which protects members in both parties from accountability. 10. Senator Harry Reid (D-NV): Over the last few years, Reid has been embroiled in a series of scandals that cast serious doubt on his credibility as a self-professed champion of government ethics, and 2007 was no different. According to The Los Angeles Times, over the last four years, Reid has used his influence in Washington to help a developer, Havey Whittemore, clear obstacles for a profitable real estate deal. As the project advanced, the Times reported, “Reid received tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Whittemore.” Whittemore also hired one of Reid’s sons (Leif) as his personal lawyer and then promptly handed the junior Reid the responsibility of negotiating the real estate deal with federal officials. Leif Reid even called his father’s office to talk about how to obtain the proper EPA permits, a clear conflict of interest. Judicial Watch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Judicial Watch neither supports nor opposes candidates for public office. For more information, visit www.judicialwatch.org.

I still have chills from Obama’s success in Iowa and his passionate speech last night. I’m hopelessly optimistic, so I never doubted this black mans presidential electability. I’m confident that he’ll have the same support in New Hampshire as he did in Iowa. My concern, however, is South Carolina Caucuses with an overwhelming 50% black vote. I hate to say it, but our people are some of the biggest damn haters (oops… said I wasn’t going to use that word in ‘08) when it come to our own. Our “civil rights” leaders and black problemticians ie, Andrew Young, Jesse Jackson, Sharpton are trying their best to discourage black voters from voting for Senator Barack. I’m an independent thinker and not a follower, but I’m not sure how much influence the above named “leaders” have over the masses of black people. I just hope my people base their votes on accurate knowledge of their candidate of choice rather than what they heard from some loud-mouth, jealous hearted, crabs-in-a-barrel, morally decadent black “leaders”. Has anyone else noticed how quiet the white folk are this morning? I just counted 2 evil looks… lol. I love it! Anyway I have to go, I’m about to go start a water cooler conversation about Barack being our next President:) (loved aka Imalover on SR)

Yusef X; Two inescapable facts: Barack Obama did miss votes—BECAUSE HE WAS CAMPAIGNING. As far as the vote counts in Iowa, the democratic totals were approximately 220,000—ABOUT TWICE the total number of Republican votes. So to write that the Republicans had four times the vote is COMPLETELY IN ERROR! Unfortunately, the "old school" guard of Jackson/Sharpton might well see it as their duty of maintaining the status quo of black people being "victimized" and "without hope" threatened by the uplifting energy and surprising victory of Obama, and like crabs in a barrel, seek to upend his campaign. FORTUNATELY, Obama's support cuts across the board and he doesn't need their endorsements. I think that the STRANGLEHOLD of the Bush/Clinton Dynasty of the last 20 years will finally be broken. And I think that although Ron Paul indeed has a viable message, he himself is a non-viable candidate. Unless of course, he seeks the nation's highest office…in the Twilight Zone…

It's funny how white America and some black people only see Obama as a black man. The man is multicultural. Yes, his father is Kenyan but had absolutely nothing to do with his rearing. He was raised by his white mother, grandparents and Indonesian step-father. To me, he's the first PERSON OF COLOR and first multicultural person to win the Iowa Caucus and that says a whole lot too. The reason why Obama won that caucus is people want CHANGE and Obama doesn't come with the Sharpton/Jackson race card baggage. Obama truly wants a better America for all people, not just certain interest groups. Should he win the presidency, he MUST surround himself with experienced people like Bush has. Hilary Clinton would've been great 30-40 years ago but she and her husband created a political machine full of nothing but corruption. Edwards better hope that love baby story is not true or he's toast. There's something not truthful about him. Guiliani was a great prosecutor in NY but homeboy started going downhill with his flagrant affairs and crooked friends when he became Mayor. He's another Ted Kennedy--he can hold office but will never be President. Gules should run for governor somewhere.

OBAMA WILL NOT WORK FOR MIDDLE CLASS AND POOR AMERICANS. DO YOU EVEN WONDER WHY THE MEDIA TRIES TO MAKE KUCINICH AND PAUL AND GRAVEL LOOK LIKE LOONEY TOONS? I agree MTO, tjis story should have been your top story. Who cares about Eddie Murphys fake wedding. To all of my young black people out there, please encourage everyone you can to vote. The only how we can make sure our canidate is in the whie house is if we all vote. I am in my mid 20's and will be going out to highschools in my community to encourage the young people to vote. And any opportunity I get to speak to any body about voting be them young or old or white, black or purple, I do. You would be surprised at how many older people dont vote. Let's set out to break another record and have all of our people who can vote to do it! By the way my best freind wants to vote for Hilary because she is a woman my response to her is I am black before I am a woman and my canidate must first understand those issues. Obama 08' all the way!

THE HANDFUL OF "MAINSTREAM CANDIDATES" ARE THERE TO MAKE YOU FEEL AS IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE. THE MAINSTREAM CANDIDATES ARE THE SAME PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT SUITS. THE"2nd tier" CANDIDATES ARE THE ONES WORKING FOR YOU. Go to opensecrets.org the "top tier" candidates are FUNDED BY THE SAME EXACT PEOPLE OPEN YOUR EYES

loved Flag post I still have chills from Obama’s success in Iowa and his passionate speech last night. I’m hopelessly optimistic --- i'm afraid i've caught the same bug. hate to give my heart away to a candidate. it always gets broken. i learned that the last time around with howard dean

Oh, and I wonder if donkey saw Ron Paul make an complete fool of himself a couple weeks back when asked to provide specific numbers to back up his proposals. That fool got all tongue tied, when then asked to provide rough estimates he stiill sat there looking stupid. I hope MTO posters post more comments on this story today than any other. STILL tryna figure out how a-not-so-closted homosexual's bogus wedding (or any other topic) could be the headline when a historic event such as this has taken place. SMDH

WHY HE MISSED THE VOTE ON THE IRAN RESOLUTION WHEN THE REST OF THE SENATOR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SHOWED UP? IF YOU ARE GOING TO COME , COME CORRECT

FoxyChicATX
flag as inappropriate/spamReply

I dont care about his career in the senate. What matters to me is what he has done with out a salary. He is an advocate for his community..... Remembering the values of empathy and service that his mother taught him, Barack put law school and corporate life on hold after college and moved to Chicago in 1985, where he became a community organizer with a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment. The group had some success, but Barack had come to realize that in order to truly improve the lives of people in that community and other communities, it would take not just a change at the local level, but a change in our laws and in our politics. He went on to earn his law degree from Harvard in 1991, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. Soon after, he returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law.

YusefX - I may not agree with your politics but everyone here should thank you because now we are having open debates on serious and very relevant issues; and as we all know, the quality of a debate improves with knowledge and man you are really making us think! So Kudos to you! But Ron Paul is still not a winning bet in my book. Now, even though I still say Obama is not a winning bet either because America in general is totally unprepared for a black (or biracial) man, I must say last night was pretty impressive and I stayed up past midnight listening to different views on what happened on both sides. Whether you like him or not, last night was significant for us all – blacks, brown, white, yellow and pink. We are talking about a person of color winning in a State that has just a smidgen over 2% blacks and over 94% white. That for me is astonishing and I say well done Mr. Obama, but I am still not a believer - let's see what happens in NH, Michigan, SC, Nevada, FL etc.

@ lonnydan You have some real issues to be talkin like that. By the way, what are you doing for your people? What do you do for yourself? Why are you so worried about walfare? Can you not take care of yourself. Now I am all for walfare for people wjo truly need it, but there is no way someone should be siting they lazzy behind at home all day sucking up benifits and riding aroung in a BMW. And rockin the latest in fashion. That is what most poeple do around here where I am from. Atleast the hispanics go out and work hard all day from sun up to sun down. They make very little money. Hell they get paid for a full days work what I make in an hour. They deserve a little help. Now Im in Texas, lord knows we have our fair share of them, and yes they get on my nerves with the bad driving and no insurance, but hey like I said, aint no lazy AMERICAN black or white or hell even a hispanic american fr that matter trying to do no construction job. So I say let them be!

I hope to see more black representatives in this country. Not just the few that are accepted by the white community to handle the affairs of this country. It is very strategic at this time in America that they need to build black confidence in the country of America. I would watch closely to see how many qualified blacks he will take into office with him. Because thats what we are fighting for in this country supposedly is change, so how will this effect who we are and what we have been through. Or will it be politics as usual. To elect a black man in office is a step, but to not only elect a black individual but a people is a leap into a future of real equality in this country, of what the black masses and those black people in this country who have passed long awaited.

According to entrance polls by CNN, 57% of those 17-29 year old caucus goers stood up to caucus for Barack Obama. Tonight, they drove his campaign to victory

YUSEFX ALTHOUGH, I DONT THINK U SHOULD VOTE AT ALL, I SEE YOUR POINT ABOUT. IT BAFFLES THE HELL OUT OF ME TOO. I MEAN BLACKS ARE NOT VOTING FOR THE SO CALLED BALCK PRESIDENT ON THE BASIS OF CONCRETE ISSUES THAT IMPACT THEM BECAUSE FOR EXAMPLE IF THEY DID THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT SUPPORTING OBAMA MEANS AMNESTY WHICH EQUATES TO ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL CHAOS FOR BLACKS AND ALSO OF COURSE YOUR POINT ABOUT HARSHER PRISON TERMS FOR DRUG CRIMES WHICH EVERYBODY AND THEY MAMA KNOW DISPROPORTINATELY IMPACTS BLACK IN GENERAL AND BLACK MALES IN PARTICULAR. BUT BLACKS ARE IDIOTS. THEY OPERATE OFF OF FEEL GOOD POLITICS AND THE GUISE OF A SEEMINGLY BLACK FACE. THEY ARE NOT CRITICAL THINKERS. I MEAN BLACK WERE BETTER OFF DURING CONSTRUCTION AND RECONSTRUCTION AND ALL THE PERIODS PRIOR TO IMMIGRATION BECAUSE ATLEAST THERE WAS A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON HOW POLITICAL ISSUES IMPACTED BLACK PEOPLE. I HATE CAPITALISM. HELL THERE WERE STATELESS SOCIETIES THAT EXISTED IN AFRICA FOR HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF YEARS B 4 WHITEY SET FOOT IN AFRICA AND THEY OPERATED JUST DAMN FINE. Im not a child and dont need to be force fed. I dp do my research on the internet and watch the news. Hell I even have Obama's last book. Unfortunatly, I also realize that there are some people out there who do not and will not step out of their regular box to see what is goning on. I will admit, between me being a career woman and my weekly volunteer work with the children in my community, I love the fact that when I pull up yahoo to check my mail I can read about all things going on because it is convenient. I get it all in one dose, in case I dont have time to catch up any other way that day. The fact of the matter is this is the popcorn genration. We need everything fast and convenient. There for this is the perfect outlet. Why not?

Time out... Yusef is an attention whore. Obama wasnt even a U.S. Senator when the Patriot act was passed...but Hillary was, Edwards was, Dodd was, Biden was. However, Obama was an Illinois state senator. While every senator running for president voted for the war in Iraq in 2002, Obama opposed the war in Iraq even BEFORE he became a U.S. senator. As far as the deal with Tony Rezko, state all the facts instead of parsing them. Tony Rezko was not indicted when Obama made the deal with him. In fact Tony Rezko owned some vacant land next to where Obama lived and Obama who was friends with Rezko (and didn't hide it) got a sweetheart deal for a small slice of the vacant parcel. Obama himself admitted that this was a boneheaded deal but this deal is nothing more than one friend hooking up another friend. The people who see Obama as someone who can affect change are not stupid. They feel something coming from him. They get excited by the possibilities from him unlike any other person in the race. Yusef you are just a hater and haters like you come a dime a dozen. But people can overcome hate by being informed and being educated.

Shanny07
flag as inappropriate/spamReply

I don’t even know where to start because I am so pissed!! Firstly let me state that I am an OBAMA supporter 100% !! @YusefX: You want to talk about OBAMA supporting the war on drugs!! Well then lets get into it…I would first like to state that people do drugs because they want to aint knowone forcing them to light a crack pipe just like people aren’t forcing people to smoke cigarettes . All of that is of your will. But since your bashing OBAMA explain to me how millions and billion of dollars worth of drugs get into this country on plains and every other imaginable way UNNOTICED but HECTOR and MARIA cant even travel 90 miles from Cuba to Florida without the freaking COAST GUARD swooping down on their asses!! Another small fact is that for over 20 years CRACK AND HEROIN have been devastating Blacks and what do they do they do?? open up methadone clinics.. BUT NOW…. NOW… NOWWWWWWWWWWW that Cystal Meth has been recently swoopin down on soccer moms and the other TRASH in suburbia they have put in place a multi-million dollar budget to eradicate the drug!! This has been going on for 20 years with our people but as soon as it starts devastating the lives and family structure of the GREAT WHITE HOPES of suburbia something has to be done.. OUR PEOPLE GET A METHADONE CLINIC AND 25 , 30 YEARS AND LIFE IN PRISON AND THEY GET A SLAP ON THE WRIST FOR DEALING THAT SHIT AND REHAB FOR USING IT.. FUCK UP OUTTA HERE… You wanna talk about the war on drugs… BE SMART.. WARS END… THE DRUG TRADE IS HERE TO STAY… IT IS FATTENING THE POCKETS OF WHITEY, RUINING OUR FAMILY STRUCTURE AND KEEPING OUR MEN IN JAIL FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES WHICH IS WHAT THEY WANT SO DRUGS ARENT GOING A DAMN PLACE. WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS S TOP SELLING THAT SHIT AND STOP USING THAT SHIT BUT THEIR WILL ALWAYS BE WEAK MINDS AND A TRUE NEED ( BECAUSE OF CIRCUMSTANCE) AND AN INSATIABLE APPETITE( BECAUSE OF GREED) FOR FAST MONEY SO UNTIL A LOT CHANGES AND POVERTY IS DONE AWAY ( ALL OF WHICH WILL NOT HAPPEN BY THIS PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION) THEN OUR PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE TO FALL INTO THE TRAPS AMERICA HAS PLANTED FOR US!! NEXT ORDER OF BUSINESS: YOU SAY THAT WE AS BLACKS ARE ONLY VOTING FOR OBAMA BECAUSE HE IS BLACK…. YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT WE ARE … AND THERE ISNT A THING WRONG WITH THAT.. WHITE PEOPLE HIRE WHITE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ARE WHITE… WHITE PEOPLE ACCEPT PEOPLE INTO THE BEST SCHOOLS BECAUSE THEY ARE WHITE….. WHITE PEOPLE HELP PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY WHITE!! REMEMBER THEY HAD A 400 YEAR HEAD START SO ITS TIME FOR US TO START DOING FOR OUR PEOPLE AND HELPING OUR PEOPLE INSTEAD OF TEARING THEM DOWN.. THEY HAVE TAUGHT US TO DO JUST THAT AND IT SEEMS TO BE A HABIT THAT WE CANNT BREAK!! YOU ARE ALSO INSIUNATING THAT AS BLACKS WE ARE NOT LOOKING PAST COLOR AND SEEING THE REAL ISSUES AND FRANKLY IM OFFENDED. I AM NOT EVEN 21 YEARS OLD YET AND I HAVE BEEN PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO EVERY CANDIDATE INVOLVED (AND ULTIMATELY OBAMA IS MY CHOICE) SO GIVE US AS A PEOPLE MORE CREDIT THAN THAT!! YOU SAID CAN SOMEONE TELL YOU WHAT HE HAS DONE… READ DREAMS FROM MY FATHER AND THE AUDACITY OF HOPE SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT HE HAS DONE AND HIS PLANS FOR THIS COUNTRY!! @FELONYSHOBBY: YOUR RIGHT WE NEED TO STAY INFORMED!! FOX NEWS IS A RACIST JOKE… AS IS THE REST OF THESE NEWS STATIONS REPORTING THOSE BIASED ASS OPINIONS INSTEAD OF REPORTING NEWS!! @TAETAEBABYLOVE: WHAT DID YOU DO HEAR ONE PAUL SPEECH AND JUMPED ON HIS SHIT?!? THAT MAN DOESN’T FIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU…. RECOGNIZE THAT!! @LONNYDAN: I AM USE TO YOU RANTING ABOUT LIGHT SKIN SO ITS NICE FOR YOU TO JUMP OUTSIDE OF YOUR USUAL POSTS BUT YOU ARE SUPRISING ME TODAY. I AGREE WITH A LITTLE BIT OF WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT HISPANICS BUT NOT ALL OF IT . YOU ARE FAR MORE INTELLIGENT THEN YOU SEEMED BASHING BEY AND RIHANNA..LMAO!! I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU IN YOUR LAST POSTINGS ABOUT US NEEDED MINDS FREE OF DRUGS AND SHIT.. THAT WAS BAUTIFULLY PUT!! @LOVED: THANKS FOR BRINGING THE SOUTH TO MY ATTENTION.. NOW WITH WHAT IM ABOUT TO SAY I MEAN NO DISRESPECT BUT THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH!! A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE SOUTH ARE SO BUSY FOLLOWING BEHING A PREACHER THINKING THAT HIS WORD IS LAW THAT THEY CANT SEE STRAIGHT. THEY ARE GOING TO ENDORSE WHO PREACHER JONES SAYS TO WHEN THEY HAVE PROBOBALY NEVER EVEN HEARD A SPEECH FROM EITHER CANDIDATE OR SEEN A NEWS PROGRAM IN THERE LIFE!! @FOCUS: DO YOU LIVE IN NYC?!? GUILIANNI AINT SHIT AND NEVER WILL BE!! HE IS A JOKE.. HE IS FOR BLACK PEOPLE BEING SLAUGHTERED BY THE COPS … HE JUSTIFIES PEOPLE BEING SHOT FOR NO REASON .. HE IS NOT FOR BLACK PEOPLE AT ALL HOW DARE YOU EVEN PRAISE THAT LOSER HE SHOULD SIT DOWN SOMEWHERE AND NOT RUN FOR ANYTHING AS FAR AS HIM BEING A PROSECUTER…. THERE A BUNCH OF SNAKES AS WELL 95% OF THEM JUST WANT TO SECURE A CONVICTION SO THEY LOOK GOOD WHETHER A PERSON IS INNOCENT OR GUILTY SO I AGREE WITH YOU ON WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT HILLARY AND OBAMA BUT NOTHING ELSE!! @MARCSTAR: DID YOU JUST TAKE A STAB AT OPRAH… MOTHERFUCKER YOU SHOULD LOG OFF AND WALK ACROSS THE WEST SIDE HIGHWAY AT 2 AM ON A SATURDAY ( THAT’S WHEN THE DRAG RACERS ARE OUT) WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED…. SHE DOESN’T TAKE STABS AT BLACK PEOPLE WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT… WITHOUT HER A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY WOULD BE WORSE OFF SHE DOES A LOT FOR HER PEOPLE….ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AS FOR PEOPLE VOTING FOR HILLARY BECAUSE OF BILL KEEP IN MIND THAT HE LED A FAILING ADMINISTRATION!! AND TO THOSE OF YOU SAYING THAT HILLARY IS MORE EXPERIENCE THEN OBAMA WHAT THE HELL HAS SHE DONE FOR NY ALL THESE YEARS… NOTHING!! SOMEONE MADE THIS POINT.. I THINK IT WAS ON NYTIMES.COM THAT IF A MAN IS A SURGEON AND OVER THE COURSE OF HIS CAREER SPEAKS TO HIS WIFE ABOUT ALL THAT HAS TRANSPIRED DURING HIS LONG HOURS AT THE HOSPITAL RETIRES.. DOES THAT THEN 8 YEARS LATER MAKE HER QUALIFIED TO PREFORM SURGERY?!?!? WAKE UP PEOPLE… THE TIME FOR CHANGE IS NOW… OBAMA 08 shoutout to

I have been looking @ Obama for a few yrs read both his books . He really is the man to vote for .As far as experience he has enough .When he becomes President this will make our young people growing up proud and give them something to look forward to .We have never had too much to look up to in this country except the people who forced us here > I am voting for him because he is qualified not because he is black . WTG Obama look forward to have you as the next Present of this USA

Monie911

At first I was a little shaky with him, but I think as a Black person we always have to be over qualified compared to our white counterparts, in reality, how much work did George Bush do before getting into office, when I thought about that I realized I was being unfair and indeed Obama, had enough experience to be president compared to past presidents...even more so he has a vision, no other candidate has that .....I think he will be a good leader because he can give us some hope, if not I think this country will fall apart, people need hope, he reminds me of Robert F Kennedy just a little bit, I think he will motivate the younger generation....and he is married to a smart woman!!!! wow!!!!!

Fast forward: According to the polls Hillary has a slight lead in New Hampshire but it’s within the margin of error. This is so exciting.

Theyre just like ... "vote for the black guy he looks like me" That does not cut it especially with the vast wealth of information you can access with the internet.

YusefX
flag as inappropriate/spamReply

well. lets looks at the people who are advising Barack Obama. Democracy now did a story on the advisors of the Presidential candidates and Obama's top advisers are: Zbigniew Brzezinski. Brzezinski gave an interview to the French press a number of years ago where he boasted about the fact that it was he who created the whole Afghan jihadi movement, the movement that produced Osama bin Laden. And he was asked by the interviewer, “Well, don’t you think this might have had some bad consequences?” And Brzezinski replied, “Absolutely not. It was definitely worth it, because we were going after the Soviets. Another key Obama adviser, Anthony Lake, he was the main force behind the US invasion of Haiti in the mid-Clinton years during which they brought back Aristide essentially in political chains, pledged to support a World Bank/IMF overhaul of the economy, which resulted in an increase in malnutrition deaths among Haitians and set the stage for the current ongoing political disaster in Haiti. Another Obama adviser, General Merrill McPeak, an Air Force man, who not long after the Dili massacre in East Timor in ’91 that you and I survived, he was—I happened to see on Indonesian TV shortly after that—there was General McPeak overseeing the delivery to Indonesia of US fighter planes. Another key Obama adviser, Dennis Ross. Ross, for many years under both Clinton and Bush 2, a key—he has advised Clinton and both Bushes. He oversaw US policy toward Israel/Palestine. He pushed the principle that the legal rights of the Palestinians, the rights recognized under international law, must be subordinated to the needs of the Israeli government—in other words, their desires, their desires to expand to do whatever they want in the Occupied Territories. Another Obama adviser, Sarah Sewall, who heads a human rights center at Harvard and is a former Defense official, she wrote the introduction to General Petraeus’s Marine Corps/Army counterinsurgency handbook, the handbook that is now being used worldwide by US troops in various killing operations. That’s the Obama team.

It really disgust me to hear the ignorant ones on MTO talk about how non black obama is. This is exactly why black people cant shake shit and get over ourselves and group together to beat the everyday stereotype that we all are loud ghetto and ignorant. Love starts in the home. and obviously in the home of th black community, there is no love for one another. Who gives a fuck if your light skinned, albino, dark skinned, brown skinned, cameral, or tanned. african OR african american, how can we mend the house we live in when we are soo fucking blinded to call the lighest black a house nigga and hate on them? When will we gorw to love one another and get over OUR color issue? The white people have instilled in us that lighter is better and so many have become dumb that they believe this....So what if Obama is mixed.....Most blacks are mixed.....Most mixed blacks didnt ask to be born halfway so get the fuck over it for those who are soo pro african they can see straight. It would be a blessing to see a black president in the office...to break this sad ass barrier we have and maybe see in obama that he is an BLACK AMERICAN PRESIDENT and he represents all of us. UNTIL BLACKS AND GET OVER OUR COLOR ISSUE, WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE DIVIDED IN OUR BROKEN HOME.. GORW UP ITS 2008.

The_Shoparazzi Flag post And why isn't THIS the top story? This is a Black-operated website and you bury the most important newsstory! What gives? EXACTLY MTO has the top story of the moment about Eddie Murphy and Tracy and that is not really newsworthy. RON PAUL CAN KISS MY BLACK ASS!!!! LONNYDAN WHAT DOES HIS HAVING TO BE MIXED HAVE TO DO WITH SHIT?? HE IS BLACK.why do we question the authenticity of our black people? what is black really? i think it is a lot more than a skin tone, or a racial background. his experiences as a black man make him who he is, and we as people cannot question whether he is black enough by his economic status, he has done well for himself because he has not only tried but "used his righteous mind" and for that we should congratulate him not curse him. IT IS A SHAME THAT WE AS BLACK PEOPLE TEND TO BE MORE CRITICAL OF OUR OWN RACE THAN OTHER PEOPLE ARE. I'M NOT SAYING VOTE FOR OBAMA BECAUSE HE IS BLACK, I'M SAYING VOTE FOR WHO YOU CHOOSE AND DON'T DISMISS OBAMA JUST BECAUSE HE IS OF MIXED RACE OR BECAUSE HE IS BLACK OR STUPID $HIT LIKE THAT. PEOPLE YOU HAVE A MIND VOTE FOR WHO YOU WANT TO BUT DON'T QUESTION OBAMA'S CHARACTER BASED ON GROUNDLESS IDIOTIC CLAIMS.

Yusef you must haven't read the Looneydan's previous posts about her hatred towards lightskinned blacks....this has absolutely NOTHING to do with Obama...the girl, him, or shim clearly has a bias against light skinned blacks which is really phuckin' stupid...this don't have nothing to do with politics. Go and read some of the nasty shyt she says about fair skinned black people. It's actually pretty sad to judge folks before getting to know them. Like me for instance. I would never ever date or even give a glance to a white man because I'm not ATTRACTED to them...period.....but it doesn't mean I hate white people (only a selected few I work with....LOL!) So I figure she, he or shim must've had a bad encounter, relationship with a light skinned black person. My guess is someone left she, he or shim for that particular looking person....if not why all the hatred? And I'm a medium skinned black person who embraces all races regardless.

Senator Obama has been able to develop innovative approaches to challenge the status quo and get results. Americans are tired of divisive ideological politics, which is why Senator Obama has reached out to Republicans to find areas of common ground. He has tried to break partisan logjams and take on seemingly intractable problems. During his tenure in Washington and in the Illinois State Senate, Barack Obama has accumulated a record of bipartisan success. Economy As president, Barack Obama will implement a 21st century economic agenda to help ensure that America can compete in a global economy, and ensure the middle class is thriving and growing. He will increase investments in infrastructure, energy independence, education, and research and development; modernize and simplify our tax code so it provides greater opportunity and relief to more Americans; and implement trade policies that benefit American workers and increase the export of American goods. Education Throughout America's history, education has been the vehicle for social and economic mobility, giving hope and opportunity to millions of young people. Our schools must prepare students not only to meet the demands of the global economy, but also help students take their place as committed and engaged citizens. It must ensure that all students have a quality education regardless of race, class, or background. Barack Obama is committed to strengthening our public schools to maximize our country's greatest natural resource - the American people. Obama believes that we must equip poor and struggling districts, both rural and urban, with the support and resources they need to provide disadvantaged students with an opportunity to reach their full potential. Too often, our leaders present this issue as an either - or debate, divided between giving our schools more funding, or demanding more accountability. Obama believes that we have to do both, and has offered innovative ideas to break through the political stalemate in Washington. Energy & Environment Senator Obama has been a leader in the Senate in pushing for a comprehensive national energy policy and has introduced a number of bills to get us closer to the goal of energy independence. By putting aside partisan battles, he has found common ground on CAFE, renewable fuels, and clean coal. Ethics Throughout his political career, Barack Obama has been a leader in fighting for open and honest government. As a U.S. Senator, he has spearheaded the effort to clean up Washington in the wake of the Jack Abramoff scandal. In a politically charged election year, Obama acknowledged that corruption was a problem that plagued both political parties. He subsequently enlisted the help of Republican allies to limit lobbyist influence, shine sunlight into the earmarks process and promote open government. Faith In June of 2006, Senator Obama delivered what was called the most important speech on religion and politics in 40 years. Speaking before an evangelical audience, Senator Obama candidly discussed his own religious conversion and doubts, and the need for a deeper, more substantive discussion about the role of faith in American life. Family Strong families raise successful children and keep communities together. While Senator Obama does not believe that we can simply legislate healthy families, good parenting skills or economic success, he does believe we can eliminate roadblocks that parents face and provide tools to help them succeed. A husband and father of two, Senator Obama has promoted strong families in the Senate. Fiscal "The cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and states of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on ... If Washington were serious about honest tax relief in this country, we'd see an effort to reduce our national debt by returning to responsible fiscal policies." - Barack Obama, Speech in the U.S. Senate, March 13, 2006 Foreign Policy As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Obama has fought to strengthen America's position in the world. Reaching across the aisle, Obama has tackled problems such as preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction and stopping the genocide in Darfur. Healthcare "I...believe that every American has the right to affordable health care. I believe that the millions of Americans who can't take their children to a doctor when they get sick have that right...We now face an opportunity - and an obligation - to turn the page on the failed politics of yesterday's health care debates. It's time to bring together businesses, the medical community, and members of both parties around a comprehensive solution to this crisis, and it's time to let the drug and insurance industries know that while they'll get a seat at the table, they don't get to buy every chair." -Barack Obama, Speech in Iowa City, IA, 5/27/07 Homeland Security Five years after 9/11, our country is still unprepared for a terrorist attack. From improving security for our transit systems and chemical plants, to increasing cargo screening in our airports and seaports, the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission have been underfunded and ignored. The 9/11 Commission gave the government five F's and 12 D's on the implementation of its recommendations. Senator Obama is a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and has supported efforts to base homeland security spending on risk rather than pork-barrel politics. He has also introduced legislation to strengthen chemical plant and drinking water security and to enhance disaster preparedness. Immigration Barack Obama has played a leading role in crafting comprehensive immigration reform. Obama believes the immigration issue has been exploited by politicians to divide the nation rather than find real solutions. This divisiveness has allowed the illegal immigration problem to worsen, with borders that are less secure than ever and an economy that depends on millions of workers living in the shadows. Iraq Before the war in Iraq ever started, Senator Obama said that it was wrong in its conception. In 2002, then Illinois State Senator Obama said Saddam Hussein posed no imminent threat to the United States and that invasion would lead to an occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. Since then, Senator Obama has laid out a plan on the way forward in Iraq that has largely been affirmed by the bipartisan Iraq Study Group led by James Baker and Lee Hamilton. Poverty There are 37 million poor Americans. Most poor Americans are in the workforce, yet still cannot afford to make ends meet. And too many poor Americans are single mothers who are raising children. Barack Obama has been a lifelong advocate for the poor -- as a young college graduate, he rejected the high salaries of corporate America and moved to the South Side of Chicago to work as a community organizer. As an organizer, Obama worked with churches, Chicago residents and local government to set up job training programs for the unemployed and after school programs for kids. Rural "We are at that critical and urgent moment. If Washington continues policies that work against America's family farmers, our rural communities will fall further behind - and so will America. But if we reject the politics that has shut ordinary folks out, we can create a new story for rural America ... The dreams of rural Americans are familiar to all Americans - to make a good living, to raise a healthy and secure family, and to leave our children a future of opportunity. It's time for real leadership for rural America to extend that American dream. That's the dream of opportunity that I've spent my life fighting for. And that's what our rural agenda will do." - Barack Obama, Speech in Fairfax, IA, October 16, 2007 Service "Your own story and the American story are not separate - they are shared. And they will both be enriched if we stand up together, and answer a new call to service to meet the challenges of our new century ... I won't just ask for your vote as a candidate; I will ask for your service and your active citizenship when I am president of the United States. This will not be a call issued in one speech or program; this will be a cause of my presidency." - Barack Obama, Speech in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, December 5, 2007 Seniors & Social Security Americans turning 65 this year have grown our economy by 4.5 times over the course of their working lives. They have tilled our soil, defended our country, taught our children, worked in our factories, and raised a new generation to build upon their successes. And yet, many struggle to get by. Threats to Social Security and Medicare, skyrocketing health costs, and abuse and neglect of seniors all jeopardize our unspoken covenant: our seniors worked hard to take care of us, and now we must be here for them. Technology "Let us be the generation that reshapes our economy to compete in the digital age. Let's set high standards for our schools and give them the resources they need to succeed. Let's recruit a new army of teachers, and give them better pay and more support in exchange for more accountability. Let's make college more affordable, and let's invest in scientific research, and let's lay down broadband lines through the heart of inner cities and rural towns all across America." Veterans As a member of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama is committed to helping the heroes who defend our nation today and the veterans who fought in years past. A grandson of a World War II veteran who went to college on the G.I. Bill, Senator Obama has reached out to Republicans and Democrats in order to honor our commitment to America's veterans. YusefX, While I agree with much you and Lonnyday have to say, you seem so convinced that Ron Paul will live up to all of these promises he is making. I do believe America is very close to hitting rock bottom and this is becoming a nation of extremly rich and poor only with no middle class at all....Even if Ron Paul gets elected, he still has to go up against established opposition and it is quite plausible that alot of things he is promising will not come into fruition.

I asked for people who support him to explain how he will get what fluff he has on his website.. accomplished for the people saying if paul is elected he wouldnt be able to get much done. Sometimes not getting much done is a good thing, congress passed boatloads of horrible legislation this year. At least if paul was in office he could veto terrible legislation , over spending and use the bully pulpit to get some things he wants. With americans behind him and badgering representatives to write legislation paul will sign. Politics is not a spectator sport, once you vote its not over, everything truly important is done in between votes.

As a Chicagoan, I kind of have a different POV on Obama. I am an educated, professional, succesful Black woman from the South Side. I can say that I am voting for Obama for two reasons - he wants to end the genocide in Africa & enact universal healthcare for americans. I first learned of Obama when he had an office in my neighborhood - known a TerrorTown. He was the only upcoming politician that was visible and working with the people. My neighborhood was very foul, the killing fields. His office was right in the middle of the stones & GD's on 75th and Saginaw. HE WAS NOT SCARED! He would go to that church and help the people with resources that could and did enrich their lives. He was living proof of someone who looked like me that was educated and successful and gave our community someone to be proud of. Oh and let me not forget his wife Michelle...she is a great example for all girls no matter what color. Her work with the University of Chicago put resources in Woodlawn that never existed - even with Jesse Jackson over in South Shore. So, much respect to Ron Paul and his supporters, but I am sure he would not be too quick to roll through "the town" with something viable for the people - Hillary either. When elections come, politicians dont even bother to come that way because they figure we are Black...we could care less about this nation, economics, education, healthcare, etc. Now it is 2008...my education took me out of "the town" but not far. I own several properties in the area and employ my workers from the area too. An EXAMPLE was set for me when I heard of this Obama dude many years ago, and it effected me and made me take action. He deserves a chance and is fully capable.

Some FACTS about Obama's Victory in Iowa last night: Last night, Barack Obama made history in Iowa with a dramatic and decisive victory. He won by bringing an unprecedented number of voters into the process, including thousands of Republicans and Independents who registered as Democrats in order to support Obama. The entrance polls show just how dominating Obama’s win was and dispel some myths about his candidacy: Obama beat Clinton among women 35% to 30% Obama beat Edwards among voters in union households 30%-24% Obama beat Clinton and Edwards among voters of almost every income level (Obama and Clinton tied among voters who make $15-30,000) As many voters age 17-29 as voters 65 and older participated last night -- in previous years senior participation has been 5-times greater than younger voters. Obama beat Edwards and Clinton among voters who want change (51%-20%-19%) Despite countless attacks and hundreds of thousands of dollars in negative mail, TV, and radio, Obama beat Clinton and Edwards (34%-30%-27%) among voters who say health care is the most important issue Obama won among those who said the economy was the most important issue (36%-26%-26%) Obama won over Clinton and Edwards (35%-26%-17%) among those who said Iraq was the most important issue Won across the ideological spectrum – winning among liberals, moderates and conservatives Won among high income and lower income voters among voters with household income below $50,000 (34%-32%-19%) and among those over $50,000 (41%-19%-28%) Also won among the 82% of voters who said Pakistan was “very or somewhat important” From Barack Obama.com

I can't believe that I'm saying this but I actually agree with some of the things that Lonnydan is saying. I spent most of the nite last nite watching CNN and the results in Iowa and I couldn't help but think that there is no way that these white folks would be voting for this man if he was fully black. He could have been as white bred as the Prince of Wales and they would not do it. But, this is really not my problem with Obama. I think Obama is growing as a speaker and his speech was incredibly impressive last nite but something about him doesn't sit right with me. I know some will see this as silly but his first name is Obama which is one letter off from Osama and his middle name is Hussein - one a terrorist and the other an evil dictator. I just can't shake that this is a simple coincidence. When I first heard of his full name about a year ago I thought it wouldn't sit well with the American public but so far it hasn't really been an issue. Also, I read that he used to be Muslim and he changed his religion to Christian.. was this a sincere change of heart or a political move? Secondly, this may also seem unconventional to mention but both Obama and Bill Clinton are Leos. Bill Clinton committed many crimes when he was President but with the exception of Monica he came out smelling like fresh roses. Leos are notorious for charming their way out of alot of problems that they get into and they can pull a veil on unsuspecting people's eyes and look quite innocent in every type of situation that they get themselves into. They cannot be trusted and are usually not what they seem to be. I only mention this because of what Yussefx posted about Team Obama. It's actually kind of scary. What if he really was raised in a terrorist school when he was younger as many have been saying for months now and he has somehow managed to charm us, as many Leos are known for, (think of how charismatic Bill Clinton is) and then when he becomes President he is really put in place to begin the New World Order. Wouldn't that be some shit. His name being the two names of two known terrorists plus whisperings of him going to a terrorist school in his formative years and now the background of his team really scare me. We have to be careful who we vote for. Bush's purpose of being President was to begin this war and to end Bankruptcy filings (b/c it was bad business for his friends in the banking industry who made sure that they contributed to his campaign and he promised them that he would get rid of bankruptcy filings which was his first order of business when he became president). Look at how he stole the vote from Gore. He accomplished his mission and now who knows what Obama's true mission is? He might be duping all of us but we are so giddy to see a partially black face that we ignore the facts. What do we really know about Obama? He's an awesome speaker and he wrote two books. He went to Harvard for crying out loud.. of course he's going to speak well. But what else is he going to do for us as a country (white, black and others) other than speak well? We don't have enough info on this man to make that type of judgment. I just want to make sure that Obama is not a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Ok lt me clear some things up here..We all live in America where we had so called 'freedoms' If yall really understand the judicial, political, and government and how if works in the citizens favor then these "rockstars" AKA presidential candidates are NEVER going to do a thing to make this country better in the fact that racism will NEVER end, Drugs entering this country will NEVER end, poverty will NEVER end.. Most of yall (and Im black btw) blacks on here are proud that a black descent candidate like won the caucus and acting like he fukking made it to the Mars??Calm down..Let history work its magic into the future.. Its nice to be intelligent, write intelligent but who cares ego gets us no where when we fail to use our 3rd eye and undersee the woflf in sheeps clothing hint hint 'presidents'.. I can go on for days about the New World Order, scriptures, 2012, etc..but most of yall would not even comprehend because you think its hollywood and bogus..Just read revelations and come back and apply it to todays government structure and see what you think.. Also, the right to vote campaign for us blacks is bullshit..The 'Big' man already knows who won and no im not talking no conspiracy bs..these are the facts ask any REAL free mason..lol Im not voting but Obama may have a chance and after scanning the debates in Iowa it seems that Ron Paul has maybe 3 good strategies as far as Social Security and Taxes but his Medicare ideals suck! Hilary is lying she'll say anything to sound good. Obama has yet to be trusted..Hucklebee was ok and solid..but like i said..were at War all this other bullshyt dont matter

camoflougeman2, I don't know much about free masonry as I'm a woman, lol but things just don't add up to me and I'm suspecting that what you and Yussef are saying is making sense. Now I know for a fact that Bill Clinton went to Haiti many times(as I'm Haitian and am not speaking crazy) to have some "work" done. I don't know if he's a mason or not but how in the world has this man never been indicted for anything that he's done? Whitewater scandal, to the man who killed himself in the white house, Ron Brown (still don't know if Bill had anything to do with that but it's suspicious), secret dealings with Aristide (a total disaster) and this bothers no one. I'm still questioning how Bush won the first election. There are just some things that are mysterious when they happen and you cannot ignore that there are other powers working that make them happen. I really want to vote as it's my civic duty but I would feel really bad if I went out and voted for Obama (which is my top candidate right now) and then all hell breaks loose in 2009. Do we really think that it's a coincidence that 9/11 happen the first year of Bush's presidency? We have to wake up people. Stop walking around with your eyes closed.

@yusefx u have yet to answer why exactly it is that u are so hooked on obama. there are plenty of other candidates running for office that u could campaign against as well but for some reason or another u are stuck on obama. threatened maybe? u see all of the support and momentum he has so u come here trying to sway folks over with your ron paul garbage. this man is full of lies and deceit. the things he's said about blacks are repulsive. he would do and say any and everything for a vote. meanwhile, you said what exactly can obama contribute or do for this country, well just listen to his speeches. this is a genuine man he isnt superficial, and he happens to be very intelligent. Therefore for you to sit here and say that black folks are gullible becuz they are voting for him just shows us how ignorant u really are. This man represents change, hope and unity. now think about this u talk about how is he gonna provide universal healthcare with the enormous debt of the dollar, well there are plenty of ways, and he knows exactly what he's doing. Just the thought of that alone is a step forward. U dont hear any other candidates talking about it that often. moreover, ron paul is nothing more than an opportunist. he's running for the hell of it and has no chance in hell. so u can campaign on MTO all u want but its to no effect. And Lonnydan u do seem quite smart but in many ways u can sound sorta unstable and ignorant. whether u are light red blue or purple if ur black mixed or whatever ur black. remember we should stand for unity not separation. how can we move forward as a whole when we in our own race still remain divided. on one last note this is a major factor of why so many folks are invested in obama because he represents unity.... u would be even more gullible to vote for the poser and extremist that is ron paul...

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @yusefx the fruits of ur label. gee whiz partner u have had that since like forever. hate to burst ur bubble and not trying to bring race into anything but the fruits of ur labor is white priveledge and that alone has given u everything that u can almost imagine. u really mean that others should have and deserve the fruits of there labor, becuz they are the ones that have been doin all the labor for ur people to have lavish and luxurious things. but thats another topic of discussion. now back to basics get em O B A M A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He needs to stop smoking! He has smokers' lips. He also needs more experience in politics. He should spend more time getting senatorial experience by being present for discussions on key issues. How did he vote on 2007 key issues? Exactly. He didn't. Hillary is a much better choice because I want Bill back in the White House anyway. Barack has Oprah and who cares? Hermes doesn't. Hillary has BILL, the FORMER PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES. Give Obama more time to mature politically and philosopically.

In all fairness I understand Yusefx's frustration. Howard Dean was my anti-war candidate 4 years ago. And I was willing to go through the grind to get that man elected. I can understand Ron Paul's appeal. It's just 4 years to late.

THE_DEFENDER Flag post ANDREW YOUNG AND JOHN LEWIS ENDORSED HILLARY. I THINK THE MAIN REASON WHY THEY ARE NOT READY FOR OBAMA IS BECAUSE HE WASN'T INVOLDED WITH CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT BACK IN THE 60'S. ---- I agree. That's one reason I support Hillary, she was activly involved in the civil rights movement in the 60's. But I would love to see Obama win.

@ The Defender I APPRECIATE ALL THAT HAS BEEN DONE BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE MENTORED US SO THAT WE COULD TAKE THEIR PLACE SOME DAY. IN MY GYM I NOTICE OLDER WHITE MEN MENTORING TO THE YOUNG WHITE MEN BUT I CAN NEVER ASK OR TALK TO OLDER BLACK MEN BECAUSE THEY SEEM LIKE THEY HAVE A CHIP ON THEIR SHOULDERS. I APPRECIATE THE WORK THE WAS DONE FOR ME IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET A HIGH PAYING JOB. I AM GOING TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP TROUBLE YOUTH SINCE I CAN'T TALK WITH MY ELDERS. SOME PEOPLE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE A FATHER. ---- We think a like. me thinks your my new best friend..lol

" Generally speaking, our people were unaware that there are various forms of freedom within the framework of the constitution of the United States; for example, freedom of press, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc. But freedom not practiced is WORTHLESS. what type of freedom were black americans trying to obtain?. They insisted "We want to be free!" yet there was clear-cut definition. The adversary, capitalizing in this, cunningly and craftily fashioned a freedom suitable to himself. Thus he begun to delude the masses into thinking the "integration" was synonymous with freedom. His craftiness worked. Suddenlty, everyone began talking about integration. Black people began to think that integration was going to bring them equal opportunity to fulfill their needs and that they would eventually achieve integration into the educational system, the neighborhoods, and the power structure in America, even though in the beginning this was not the purpos of struggle, nor the objective. Initially, the masses were not speaking of a materialistic revolution. They were decieved by their own political and civil leaders who deluded the people because they had been misled by their rulers. They fed the lies and deception to the masses. Subsequently, the black masses, because they had not soundly evaluated what was being told to them by black leaders were confused. Thus, the adversary took complete control of their minds and their struggle by using the power to define, and consequently derailed the objectives of black america. At that time Malcolm X proclaimed the struggle to no longer be a struggle for freedom becayse it had become a circus. Malcolm further stated that the "March on Washington was a three-ring circus. The leaders had sold their people out. Not only did the power structure con us into seeking integration, but also jobs, housing; thus we forgot about freedom. Soon after, on did no hear the talk of freedom but instead "rights", right to live, right to work, etc. Suddenly, blacks were talking about integrating the schools, jobs, busing, and money. Thus, the power structure made them believe that freedom, as they defined it, made the system their friend and savior." cant type anymore lol
