Anyway, don't the record companies know by now that the internet and new technology has put a severe damper on cd sales? Who in their right mind would pay all that money when they can download it? I guess I'm old school because if I like a cd (and there aren't many these days) I will buy it but I hear lots of people talking about downloading songs. Rihanna's Umbrella may be #1 but its #1 in people's homes instead of the store.

whats good IceQueen! the reason why Chrisette is going to flop is because her album already came out and people dont even know it..I listen to the readio all day-especially the stations that play r&b and I havent heard any of her songs..I cant even tell you the name of her songs..I have only seen one video on VH1 Soul, and not many people have that channel..theres been no marketing or promoting..she was on Wendy Williams and her interviewing skills were terrible-cant blame her too much, shes a new artist, but like Wendys sidekick said-Jay-Z needs to spend less money on exotic vacations and more money in artist development and coaching..she sounded very young, unpolished, not confident, giggled and was very BORING-Wendy said she was about to kick her out of the studio because she had no energy and didnt want to talk about anything,not even her record..she was BLAH..and personality goes a long way in this business, thats why some people make it and some people dont, gotta have that little something extra..talent doesnt make a whole package..and she said shes going to be touring in Japan? huh? how about you let the American audience get to know you before you go overseas..Jay-Z is going to ruin this girls career like he did with Teiarra Mari |

Well, if this is true it is indeed sad. I know I've been very crtical of Rihanna, but this is why I have been telling her to stay humble all along. People are very strange... because in a very hyped setting ppl appear to go along with anything-- so a host says somebody is talented and sexy and in the heat and excitement of the moment, they jump on the band wagon. At the end of the day when sanity returns, they go out and support some other artiste who can really sng and dance. Yes, a lot of "white" people may like one or two of her songs, but they clearly aren't the stake holders in the sales of her album. People like pieces of her album not the whole thing. I wish she didnt say that thing about her country though, because if this is true, then she has a lot of ppl to apologize to... hmmm |

the news doesn't upset me. because i understood a few years ago as a teenager that this music wasn't up to par. i listen to various things and it just isn't r & b. the last cd i purchased was..... that's my point. there are some good party singles out, some drop my top and ride singles and moving ones. but as far as albums go, thy suck. and stop praising b, cuz b-day sucked. it's her marketing that's kept it going strong. we'll be reading this about her next year if she doesn't take a break. riri has put out to many 3 albums in 3 years.... that's a lot. |
